Aly Wafa — Artisan, Engineer and Visionary

Aly Wafa, the artisan, graduated with a degree in Applied Arts in 1974, the same year when he decided to further his education studying Engineering at Hannover University, Germany.


He returned to Egypt with a vision for his grandfather's business of Metal Manufacturing and Fabrication. His technically diverse education alongside his passion became a marker of standard and innovation, redefining everything that was known in the industry.

A Revered Name Amongst the Elite Society

By 1990, Aly Wafa was a respected name in the industry, revered among the elite of Egyptian society.

His work quality and cultural admiration manifested by recreating elements of Egyptian heritage with cultural fusions as a means of elevating that niche society’s decorative and F&B needs.

A 20-Year Collaboration Preserving Heritage

Professor Dr. Fuat Sezgin was a Turkish scholar and researcher who specialized in the history of science in the medieval Islamic world.


In 1983, he founded the Museum of the Institute for the History of Arabic-Islamic Sciences in Frankfurt, where around 800 objects are displayed. These objects are replicas of instruments created or used by Muslim scientists. Aly Wafa was commissioned to create some of the objects displayed at the museum.
